Water filters
Our unit titled "Wonderful Water" has been informative and we know it is very important to conserve water when ever we can. Even just turning off the tap when brushing your teeth, or making sure everyone showers for less time will make a big difference.
Here are some images of Room 1 creating their water filters. You will see old t-shirts and socks being reused as well as stones from the playground. The winner was Rangitiriao! While her water filter managed to filter the cleanest water we still wouldn't recommend drinking this water!

Samoan Art
During Samoan Language Week our handwriting was all in Samoan. We learned greetings, colours and numbers. We also used water colour paint to create some stunning art.
Epro8
Charli and Spencer made the Year 5/6 team to represent Netherby School along with Saane and Kueva from Room 2. They went to Ashburton Intermediate to compete against 9 other teams and came 4th equal.

Wednesday 28 February to Friday 1 March - CAMP
We had so much fun - I mean we did so much learning in the outdoors! From archery, abseiling, air rifle shooting to bush walks and water slides. One of the best activities is our night time "Dragon" game, where we wait until it is dark and then race around trying to find cards and avoid being tagged by the adults. So much squealing and so many memories made from this awesome experience.

Today we played Kahoot - this is an online interactive quiz. Our first quiz was about the Treaty of Waitangi which was won by Spencer and Myles. The second one was about te reo Māori, which was won by Charli and Roseta. But the third Kahoot was on the book "Runt" that we are reading in class. Mrs Watson decided to join for the second game and there was a fierce competition! However, Mrs Watson was the winner!
